Texas born and bred, I spent most of my life in Fort Worth. After 36 years of experiencing four seasons (three of which involved varying phases of summer and hellacious heat), I was ready to experience the proper versions of seasons. I mean, I feel like I would have my girl card taken away if I said that I wasn’t completely jazzed about experiencing a proper fall with multi-colored trees, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, apple cider, and crisp air…
So I packed up my entire life into a pod, keeping just the bare essentials and my fur baby, Dobby, in the car, and spent the next few days driving across the country to land in my new hometown of Detroit. And it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever granted myself.
If I had to summarize myself into a pretty package, here’s what I’d tell you:
Accountant by day, budding new writer by night. Passions include live music, college football (Go Green and Go Frogs!), and hockey. Fluent in sarcasm, puns, music lyrics, and movie quotes. Spotify playlists run the gamut from the classic rock I remember from my childhood to the 90s alternative that molded me and includes the rest of the spectrum with some Texas country, rap, indie pop rock, and even a dash of classical. Prefers a night in with close friends, good food, and incredible conversation over spending a night on the town. Fierce advocate for the Oxford comma. New homeowner. Constantly looking to explore, grow, and improve all facets of my being and life.
All the rest will be revealed in due time.
